Contractions are the short forms of the two words,in which the apostrophe ( ' ) is used instead of a word or the  group of words.

           ಸಂಕೋಚನಗಳು -

ಎರಡು ಪದಗಳನ್ನು ಜೋಡಿಸುವಾಗ ಒಂದು ಅಕ್ಷರ ಅಥವಾ ಅಕ್ಷರಗಳ ಸಮೂಹದ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಅಪೋಸ್ಟ್ರೋಫಿ(') ಚಿನ್ಹೆಯನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿ ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಪದಗಳೆಂದರೆ ಸಂಕೋಚನಗಳು.
